Divinci DV-505 Platinum Series 5.1 Surround Sound System Bundle Up for sale is a pre-owned, working 5.1 home theater system by Divinci audio. This is not to be mistaken with DaVinci audio. This is one of them off-brand remake type of systems and is in no way, shape, or form meant to be misleading to those that are fans of the original brand. With all that out of the way; this system serves its purpose at delivering a entry level 5.1 system that packs a punch. For those on a budget it is not a bad option. This system is setup to bypass the need for an external receiver. The amp/receiver is built into a ported, down-firing subwoofer enclosure with a 10 Long Throw woofer. The sub is decent and holds its ground up into fairly high volumes with minimal distortion. There are 2 RCA Aux inputs on the head unit as well as a 3.5 mm MP3 input for audio in. 5 input channels corresponding with the 5 speakers inputs are wired, post-type terminals with banana-jack capable posts. Also has 5 DVD In RCA inputs. The interface is flashy and features 2 blue led VU Meters. It is a cool looking system. Especially in dimly lit rooms. It comes with an IR remote control, user manual, am loop antenna, fm antenna, antenna bracket. There are also 5 speakers included with the head unit. Front left, front right, surround left, surround right, and a center channel speaker. Front L/R and Surround L/R feature a 2-way vertical system in a non-ported cabinet with a removable silk enclosure. They can be hung on the wall with rear brackets or placed on a shelf and are capable of 200 Watts RMS at 8 ohms impedance. The center channel speaker features a 3-way horizontal design in a non-ported cabinet with a removable silk enclosure. Center is also capable of 200 Watts RMS at 8 ohms impedance. **A couple of minor annoyances that potential buyer should be aware of are: 1. When I purchased the system, two of the original feet on the subwoofer cabinet were broken. I came up with a temporary solution and put together some adjustable feet with a foam bottom to slow vibration. They work fine, but as you can see they are not pretty. (See Photos) The original feet were difficult to match up to without changing the height of the subwoofer. This may be something a person might want to look into eventually. For now these work just fine.2. The interface is a little bit of a mystery. All the functions work as far as I can see and the remote works as well. However, the system has a memory setup that automatically switches it to DVD In input and cranks the volume to 68 upon startup. This isnt that big of a deal as you can change it right away and lower the volume. However, it is a bit startling if you already have your audio source on and running before turning on the surround system. My recommendation is to turn on the surround system first, adjust the volume and input, and then turn on your tv or other audio source second. This will prevent you and whoever is near you from jumping straight into the air the first time you run this thing. haha. I couldnt seem to figure out how to remove the memory as there is a guard setup and I dont know the sequence of buttons to remove it. There is very little info out there on this thing so its all guesswork. I just used it the way it is and remembered to turn it on before everything else.
