Up for sale is a very nice Sony TC-WE605S Dual Cassette Deck. This was from the original owner who said he rarely used it and he hadnt used it for years. A quick examination clearly showed that this unit was seldom played. The heads showed virtually NO WEAR. This is a very versatile and high quality deck. The two independent motors allow for dubbing of one cassette to another. The unit comes with most all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from a quality tape deck from Sony that was produced at the end of the cassette era. This includes Automatic Music Search (AMS), Auto Record Level Adjustment (ARL), Dolby B,C and S, auto tape type detection, and auto fader, just to name a few. Cosmetically the unit has some minor scuffs on the top and one side. These can be seen in the pictures. The front is in excellent condition. Please look carefully at all pictures and judge the cosmetic condition for yourself as everyone has their own standards. When I tested this unit it was not working. This is a typical problem for old cassette tape decks that have sat for years unused. The rubber belts with drive the capstan wheels and the tape movement disintegrate and/or melt with age. I took this unit apart and sure enough the belts had turned into a sticky mess. I have cleaned all of the remnants of the old belts out and replace all of them with new belts. I also relied all of the mechanicals. Now everything works perfect and is ready for another 30 years of use! The sale includes a copy of the Owners Manual. It’s a nice Clean Marantz DR6050, it’s a disc recorder and cd player all in one. Will be well packed and serial number sent is same in photos. I have personally played a cd in both sides, listed as parts and no returns because too many scams on eBay. So officially it’s broken, but not really.
