The subwoofer works just fine but does have a hum when plugged in.. I bought this 3 months ago to fill in for my JL audio Fathom which was being serviced.. from the ad .. This looked in very good cosmetic condition and advertised as works great .. did not mention a hum.. the seller actually brought it to me because he had no way to demo it.. when he arrived.. popped open his trunk .. I saw a subwoofer with a good amount of scuffs and nicks .. he said he dropped it while loading it .. I knew I was not going to pay his asking price which was $600.. I knew I could make it look better by painting it.. plus It was going to be put in an area where it was hardly noticeable.. so we brought it in , hooked it up and heard the hum.. turned it off.. disconnected the coax and turned it back on and still heard the hum.. not real loud but certainly loud enough to hear it.. I decided to give it a try anyway and it definitely worked very well.. I was truly shocked by its performance.. I did not hear the hum when watching a movie. so I figured Id make an offer and have it repaired or just live with it .. I paid $385.. I just lived with the hum .. only turned it on for movies.. I did not want to sink more $ into a sub I wasnt going to have very long...I always use at least 4 subs for movies .. . Not trying to shake my house apart.. but I want to feel that sinking feeling...so I set my subs at 11 oclock. This sub had more than enough power.. actually synced well with my JL Fathom and Rel S/812 ( of course Im not implying they are in the same league but, still very impressive).. Rather than put yet another piece of audio in storage I decided Id Just sell it once I no longer needed it..
