Massdrop + THX AAA 789 Linear Headphone Amplifier, and upgraded iPower Low-Noise DC Power Adapter. This headphone amp made waves when it was released, as it was one of the best if not the best low-noise amplifiers on the market for the price. The amp uses fully separated channel circuitry, giving it very low crosstalk; and the included iPower DC adapter helps keep the noise even lower, to the point that the unbalanced output has the clarity and noise floor of a fully balanced amp. The amp also has balanced XLR output with higher power output with the same excellent low-noise performance as with the unbalanced 3.5mm and 1/4 headphone outputs. For inputs, the 789 has two pairs of RCA stereo inputs and stereo XLR for balanced input. Finally, there is a three stage gain switch that increases noise but also increases power output.
