Technics SL j300R linear tracking direct Drive Turntable. Spares or repair. This turntable is in good physical condition but the platter does not turn and there is no stylus. It is sold as spares or repair. There is no mains lead but is a standard plug type. This Technics turntable does not work, I have no idea why and have not tried to establish the cause. If you have any questions please ask. I have other Hi Fi items listed and I am always open to sensible offers. Please see my feedback. I have been an ebay member since 2001. The sound is a proverbial knock-out (via a QUAD system with ESLs) - MAGIC VINTAGE Motor: EDS 1000-2 electronically controlled direct drive system Speeds: 33.33 and 45rpm Platter: 1.5kg, 305mm, dynamically balanced Pitch control: 10% Wow and flutter: 70dB Tonearm: extra long tubular tonearm with double acting vibration damping Tonearm effective length: 222mm Built between 1979-1984 Stylus pressure: 0 to 3g Dimensions: 45 x 39,5 x 14 cm Weight: 9kg This outstanding, professional standard defining, linear tracking, direct drive turntable has been a most treasured LP / Vinyl player for many, many years (following the demise of a Technics SL-3). At some point (as a result of child activity) the otherwise perfect cover had its right (rear) bracket broken - but it lifts and descends without hitch and sits correctly. Over the years the system that raises and lowers the cartidge/stylus has become lazy and needs attention. Perhaps more importantly, the weekend before the (UK Covid) lockdown was imposed, it just stopped when switched on. Nothing. Nada! Tried the fuse - nope! And so this lovely Revox started to collect dust as over the years the desire/need to listen to vinyl has faded. So, as the household does not sport a competent repair person, it is time to, very reluctantly, move it on to someone who is enthusiastic and digitally dextrous/secure enough to find out what has failed and, perhaps using the repair kits available here on eBay, bring it back to vibrant (former) life. This much loved and prize winning example is from the home of a (now retired) classical musician and, as with all items from this source, has been stored and maintained in a smoke & pet free environment. So do keep a wary eye out as there are many more such gems to be listed here.....
