I purchased this equipment new from a HiFi dealer in the Santa Clara California area around 2004. The equipment was packed up in 2007 when we moved away from California and has been in storage since this July, when these photographs were taken. I used them as the primary speakers for a Bang Olufsen 7700 and was very pleased with their performance. All four pieces are in very close to new condition, and the sound quality of the speakers is still excellent. The following quote is from a review by HiFi Review: “DM600 S3 is the most compact speaker system in the 600th series of B&W. Tweeters design is the analogue of Nautilus - the design of HF-drivers. Woofers diffuser is a proprietary Kevlar plaiting. Plugs for bass-reflexes ports are included - for serious audiophiles. Also there is a bracket for integral mount. The concept of DM600 S3 does not provide bass like in floor standing system. But please note that I placed small squares of Velcro on the corners of the upper stand platforms and the corresponding lower corners of the base of each speaker. This was to keep them speaker’s from getting pushed around on the bases during housekeeping. The tweeter is faulty. It doesn’t make any sound. Also the dome is dented as shown on the photos. The listing is for one single tweeter. Part number is ZZ13145. This unit is used in all LCR60 and LCR600 S3 Series. Also can be used in DMS600 and DMS601 but it’s grey not black. Please ask if you want to see anything in details.
