He purchased it from his good friend and even bigger audiophile who was the original owner. These are both functioning but a downsizing required a smaller system. Both DAC and power supply are missing screws that secure the case (sorry for the novice terminology). The DAC has one screw. No power cord is included(being used for the new system). I am not aware of any modifications but if there were I would assume they would be considered an upgrade. Please see all pictures for details on condition. What I have here is a slightly used iFIZen Air Dac. Used to drive my HD660s headphones. Enjoyed the the extra bass this provided and really made me appreciate a lot of my headphones in a different way. Over time I’ve collected many amp/dacs and can say this one did impress me the most with how well they elevated the sound signature of headphones I felt were not doing it for me. After using this, I realize how important a good amp/dac can benefit you. Reason for selling is that I have so much audio gear and I never use them. I want this device to make it to someone who could use it and enjoy it for what it is. I also just sold the zen signature set and can compare the two. The Zen air dac did better for my headphones than the signatures did. For the less than a quarter of the price. Yes, the signature combo was louder. But that’s not the only thing I was looking for. Musiland Audio Labs Monitor 02 US Dragon USB2.0 / USB3.0 Desktop DAC/Headphone Amplifier 32bit/384KHz. We installed the newest driver from the included CD onto a Windows 10 x64 system and it worked flawlessly. In conjunction with our media center, as you can see from the photos, we were able to effortlessly switch between bitrates. (Though not shown in the photos, we were also able to effortlessly switch between ASIO and WAVE.) This thing is rock solid and sounds fantastic. Definitely audiophile grade. The imaging is insane. Everything we threw at it sounded great. And the headphone amplifier, which was quite impressive, is very powerful indeed. Its in great condition and everything works as expected. The manual says it is normal for this to get warm during extended use, but we experienced nothing of the sort. It stayed cool as a cucumber for hours, as did the power supply, running primarily at 96K. The manual is on the CD but it is in Chinese. Thank god you dont really need it. (You push down gently on the big volume wheel to mute/unmute...that is what we learned from the manual.) There is a Chinese-to-English text of the manual as well. Includes USB3 cable, upgraded and extended power supply, and copied driver/manual CD. We can guarantee that it works flawlessly on an up-to-date Windows 10 x64 system, but we can not make guarantees about other operating systems (because we did not test them.)
