Selling my beloved vintage Denon PRA-1000 preamplifier. It is in excellent condition. It was serviced by a professional technician who replaced the volume pot about 5 years ago, and has be recapped and the phono opamps have been upgraded to Burr-Brown SoundPlus, resulting in an incredibly low noise floor when playing vinyl. The power cable has also been upgraded to a high quality cord for improved EMI rejection. The only flaw is that one of the channels will sometimes get scratchy if you havent used it in a while and you have to turn one of the knobs back and forth to remove the slight corrosion on the contacts. A blast of DeOxit should clear this up. Im also selling a matching Denon POA-1500 amplifier. (I will also consider selling my excellent matching Denon DCD-1500II CD player if you want a set) Shipping will be either UPS or Fedex; buyers choice. Pleased to offer this fabulous, made in Japan, Denon preamp. This is the model PRA-1100. A total of eight (8!) RCA analog inputs, including a phono stage that supports moving magnet and moving coil. All inputs and outputs are working, and she sounds great. Functional and sonically, only things to note are that the volume knob feels a little loose, and a tiny bit scratchy. Could probably benefit from a deoxit bath. The other thing is that the phono input sounds great when I choose MM or MC with ‘subsonic’ engaged. If I use either the plain MC or MM selectionsI get some distortions. I’m not sure what the difference is or what the potential issue is, but again sounds great, selecting ‘subsonic’ MM or MC. Cosmetics are OK. Absolutely not mint, but presentable. Will be carefully and completely packaged, to arrive to you safe and sound. Denon PRA 1100 Preamplifier. Machine is Functional, but please Read Following: I purchased this about a year ago as is. The Main issue is the Power Button. I bought it this way with the intention of fixing it for a Project I was doing at the time, but never was able to move forward as I have about 1000 projects going on at the same time. The Machine will work as is, however it has to be plugged in, and unplugged to shut off. All Functions are there, and I hooked it up to 2 Rotel RB980BX Amplifiers in Mono, with my CD Player. It sounded very good and all the Functions were there as I checked them all with Different Components. I unhooked it and put it away in search of a possible Donor to get it 100% Correct, or compatible parts. Cosmetically, the Machine is in Good Condition. Some signs of wear on Top and a couple Scratches on Top Edge of Faceplate. The actual Face is very presentable. The Lower Cover Hinge will need work, but the Cover is there and in Good Shape. I have a PRA 1000 and I actually Removed my cover. If your handy this could be a Breeze to correct, or use it as is if you don’t mind unplugging it. I will sell this for exactly what I paid for it. Returns will NOT be available for this Purchase. Machine will be Sold for Parts or Repair and As Is, even though it is currently Functioning. It Will be safe and Securely packed.
