You are probably already familiar with this DAC if you are viewing this listing. This unit was ordered by me in February, 2022. It was used in my office for computer audio, I am downsizing this system and moving to a physically smaller DAC to save desktop space. The unit has performed flawlessly. It will be shipped in all original packaging. Ive included the power cord I was using as Denafrips does not include one of these when you buy it from them. There is a firmware update available from Denafrips but this unit has not been updated. The firmware update is free of charge and instructions can be found on the Denafrips website if you would choose to update the firmware.

Denafrips PONTUS II R2R DAC Unit has been upgraded to the highly regarded version 1.4 firmware. Purchased directly from Vinshine audio in 2022. Comes with all original items and fully packaged in original packaging as it did new from the factory. Sound quality is incredible and incredibly natural sounding. Very analog in tone. Only issue is the sticker on the back as the corner pealed back (see photo).

This is the new 12th Edition Pontus dac from Denafrips. It is less than 3 months old and in as new condition.The sound of this dac is a match or better than dacs twice the price.Suffice to say that it took a Weiss 502 for me to hear a worthwhile improvement over the Pontus.

For sale is a lightly used Denafrips Pontus II. This DAC has been my daily driver for 2+ years. It sounds beautiful, warm, organic, and completely non-fatiguing. It is a true delight to hear. Selling because, unfortunately, I need the money. Purchased/shipped in January 2021. (This is important to know since there have been a couple different manufacturing runs.) The latest USB MCU firmware update from November 2021 is installed. (Stock version had some flakiness with the USB input, but this was completely fixed, it has been 100% rock solid since the Nov 21 update.) As you may know, the sound signature of these units is largely implemented in the FPGA firmware, so different firmwares sound quite noticeably different. The current firmware installed on this particular unit is the 1.0 version, however there have recently been some updates to that- a 1.4 FPGA firmware was released in May 2023. I compared the two versions and found I preferred the 1.0 firmware, but that is just a personal preference and certainly 1.4 does sound better in some very objective ways. They both sound excellent. Do your own research and see what people are saying on the forums. Heres the fun part: YOU, the buyer, pick if you would like 1.0 firmware or 1.4 firmware installed on the unit before I ship it out. (Its somewhat annoying to install the firmware update software on your computer, so you can get the benefit of me having done it already.) If you decide you want to experiment with the firmware later on your own, you can tell Vinshine its a EP4CE22F Pontus. (Thats the FPGA type.) Unit has seen hundreds of hours of use, plus I burned it in with pink noise for a long, long time. It is completely reliable, incredibly musical, and built like a tank. Physically in excellent condition. Used in a non-smoking home. Will ship in the ORIGINAL packaging, with the stock power cable. Any questions, please ask.

Denafrips Pontus II 2 DAC Digital Audio Converter. This DAC made my previous DAC sound like it was broken , such was the difference. It really is an astonishing bit of kit. I purchased this in March 22 from Vinshine Audio as part of my bid to build my dream HiFi so still has nearly 2 years warranty left. Denafrips are an amazing company that continue to support their DACs - they have just released an FPGA firmware update for this DAC - I havent installed it so the buyer can have the choice of whether to do it https://www.denafrips.com/firmware-update There is a small scratch on the top right of the faceplate that was sustained in the shipping from Singapore to the UK, I have and will include with the sale a new faceplate Denafrips sent as compensation but I never saw the need to fit it.
