WELCOME TO AMP KING AUCTIONS Denon DCD-1420 If you know anything about DACs you know original PCM are good, very good! This CD player has 2 PCM54HP DAC chips in parallel and its the higher grade K version. I replaced everysingle old electrolytic capacitor with much higher grade version specif for each different area, analogue/digital. I also increased the capacitance in certain area like the analogue and DAC sections.High grade premium parts such as Elna Silmic IIs. I replaced the main 5v regulator with a LT low noise version that makes a big difference to the sound! It powers the DACs and the output Opamps. I also fitted a very high grade clock with solid polymer caps. If you dont know what a clock upgrade is then I should inform you its the difference between a mini and a Ferrari! It really makes the sound analogue rather than digital! The output opamp upgraded to my fav LM4562. Because they are the best end of. 4 of them! All the caps around the output opamps are premium Film/Foil capacitors. Not a single ceramic for vital areas! Output caps bipolar and much better than previous. I mean theres 0 comparison! Not even in the same league! I fitted all schottky diodes to the power supply section. Ferrite cores to the supply lines, IEC mains filter! Output fitted with proper gold RCA connector. Variable output and headphone disabled. Mechanism cleaned and greased. Cant remember but probably changed belt. In fair condition, scratches on lid ony visible in direct light with Denon remote. What a bargain! Give it a weeks use and it will settle down and sound twice as good! But you will probably think its the best thing you heard as is! As do all my customers! Has a very delicate airy, clear and detailed sound. Very musical and analogue. Wish I could hear it fully worn in as I bet its probably sublime!
