Philips D6920 MK2 semi-professional portable cassette recorder. All functions tested, everything is in perfect condition and working order. The only flaw was stuck needles of the VU meters; this was remedied by heating the screws of the VU meters with a soldering iron (as seen in YT instructional videos). This cassette recorder was purchased at the time by my father-in-law-blessed, and from the looks of it, it has (almost?) never been used. No scratches or traces of usage whatsoever. The screws show signs of use after I fixed the VU meter problem described above. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Stereo cassette deck, on the market between1985 and1992.The main features: 2 heads, mechanical 3 digit tape counter, suitable for normal and chrome tapes, belt driven single-capstan transport.Top loading layout. Tape eject is operated mechanically, opened by a damped mechanism.Level meters are analog needle VU reading meters. Full-logic transport controls let the unit respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection. Playback speed may be adjusted with pitch control. Cue and review can be used to easily and quickly locate the beginning of a passage.The deck has 2 microphone inputs to connect microphones with a jack connector. A jack connector for a pair of stereo headphones is supplied. Connection to other audio components for playback can be achieved by a RCA cable and recording from a source by a RCA cable.Spectacular is the Sound-on-sound / post-fading possibility of this deck! The sound on previously recorded cassettes can be mixed with new added recordings (typically: voice-overs, crossfades), or faded out.One typical application for this cassette deck was the synchronization of sound(track) to dia presentations. PHILIPS D6920 MK2 PROFESSIONAL PORTABLE STEREO CASSETTE DECK this is for spares or repair , this is because it partially works ok , but requires attention , being a 3 motor unit i dont think that it needs belts , but although the f/fw and the rewind motors are working ( can hear a whiring sound ) they dont rotate the spindles , so i assume there is some sort of clutches or slip drives , also when you press the play button the tape moves a bit and can hear audio , but stops almost immediately and does not spool on ( see pics ) ,also the tape door doesnt open properly , think it is one of the side pins has come of , but when you put tape in it alignes fine , also missing the pitch control knob ,but as its not one of the coaxial ones used in the vol and record knobs should be able o find one to fit , , uses the standard figure 8 mains lead ( included ) and the battery box looks clean , no leaking battery residue , as you can see case in fairly good condition , lots of info for this on web https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/philips/d6920.shtml please only bid if you are happy that will require some expertise to sort out also sorry no overseas sales
