For sale is a Yamaha CX-2 Natural Sound Pre Amplifier (Control Amplifier). See one of the photos for the extensive list of features and another for the specifications scanned in from the users manual. It has 8 audio inputs and 3 A/V inputs. I am the original and only owner of this preamplifier. It has been in storage for a number of years as a backup to my current gear, but my spouse has told me I cannot get any new gear until I clear out the old. I am selling this and a Yamaha T-80 tuner. I was going to sell this about a year ago, and tested it then as part of a rack (see photo). However, I no longer have a working separate power amplifier; therefore, I could not test it extensively prior to this listing. It worked great when I did test it, and have not used it since so it should be in good condition, but I am selling as is because I could not do my normal exhaustive testing. There are some very minor cosmetic blemishes as would be expected for such a unit. But it looks good. As can be seen in the pictures, the unit will be shipped in its original box and packaging. The original manual will also be included as well as the original remote control which does work. Economy shipping to the continental United States only. Local pickup is available. On Mar-15-24 at 19:19:29 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 3/15/24: Tonight, just to ensure the unit is indeed still working properly, I repurposed an integrated AMP (Yamaha DSP-A1) to act as a power amplifier and tested it with the CX-2 and outboard components. What I tested worked flawlessly. I tested all the audio inputs except for the phono input. I did not get a chance to test the video ouputs or the composite video and S video connnections. Although I feel all will work as designed, I cannot guarantee that yet. I also tested all the A/C power outlets and everything was great. See additional photo of the rack with the DSP-A1 on Ext. Decoder In. Note that if you are interested, the Yamaha T-80 tuner is currently up for bid on eBay as well (also tested and working flawlessly eBay item number:126377488640). On Mar-18-24 at 13:55:58 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 3/18/24: Now fully tested! Today, I had the opportunity to connect a turntable to the CX-2 phono input, and it worked perfectly. I also connected video sources on all the video inputs and connected an external television monitor to the MON OUT out jacks. This also tested perfectly. I tested both the composite video connections and S-video connections (inputs and output) independently and they worked flawlessly and provided a good picture to the television. So all inputs and the monitor output have been tested perfectly.
