Classic British hifi amp, Creek CAS 4040 in beautiful condition and full working order. Hardly a mark on it, all works, sounds brilliant. Dates from around 85/86. Has phono input for your turntable plus a couple of other inputs. These use a 5 pin DIN socket, so Ill include a phono to DIN cable to get you started. Collection RG12 thanks.

Excerpts from Vintage Sonics review of the Creek CAS4040 amplifier. In 1982, the £99 Creek CAS4040 was stunning; it looked and sounded remarkably identical to an A&R A60 that had ‘shrunk in the wash, which was a good thing and featured a deep and warm tone, with plenty of power, similar to the twice-as-expensive A60. The CAS4040 produced 30W RMS per channel of AC-coupled, mostly Class B biased power and had a wonderful, sweet, and musical sound, far smoother tonally than comparable Japanese amplifiers. Even the rich NAD sounded steely and mechanical in comparison. Although the little Creek was a little opaque and soft in absolute terms, the music appeared to bounce along in a most delightful way. Hi-Fi News. Considered by many as something of a giant-killer when originally launched onto the UK market in 1982, the Creek CAS4040 is remembered fondly by the thousands of owners for whom it represented their first taste of real hi-fi. With the right music it can make for an enjoyable listen even today and as an example of 'minimalist engineering' done right has earned itself a place in the halls of hi-fi history. This was my late father in laws amplifier. He bought it in around 1983/4 with a Rega planar 3 record deck and some Royd Coniston R speakers. It has been used to amplify, mainly classical an opera records (and one Meat Loaf album). It’s in full working order all the switches all the buttons operate as they should. I’m not tested all the inputs, but the disc input definitely works. The volume the balance to travel and bass or work and the headphone output works. Comes with one additional cable. Item will be very well packaged for shipping. Any questions please let me know I’m not an audiophile so I’ll do the best I can. Listing as spare parts due to the binding posts of the loudspeaker outputs being missing. Why are they missing? I dont know. I dont know if anything else is missing. I tested it using the headphone jack and confirm that it is working that way. Cant promise anything else
