Vintage 1980s Counterpoint SA-12 dual channel Tube/MosFET high end Power Amplifier, 80 WPCThis is a classic high end power amplifier designed by Michael Elliott. Set up properly and broken in this sounds pretty magical. Very smooth and tube like while detailed and with great soundstage and imaging. Image depth and instrument separation is sometimes jaw dropping. YMMV, but if this had a bit more power for my very power hungry magnepans I would never sell it. This has been almost completely Recapped except the four main filter caps which tested fine and the Wondercaps which measured perfect. Even the small low voltage section and large high voltage section WIMAs were replaced with higher rated, higher performance caps. Both protection relays were replaced, bridge rectifiers replaced, and all mainboard filter caps were replaced. Bias and DC offset were set. If you are interested in tube rolling, this Amplifier uses 6DJ8/ECC88/6922 tubes Will be well packaged to survive shipment. Amplifier is missing screws but has been tested works 100% sounds amazing was brought into a buy sell trade store from a gentleman that was orginal owner of this amp he also said at one point that his house was robbed years ago and that this amp went missing and then was recovered by counterpoint do to a man dropping off for service and counterpoint reached out and said they found the amp also serviced and sent back to him, the box that i got it from him says sa20 but it is a sa220 great shape again no issues , what i have written is what i was told it was tested and works great so any questions feel free to ask if your name is Andrew please move along do not have time for two weeks of questions
