I purchased these fine Klipsch Cornwall speakers around 1986. The serial numbers are consecutive and show the speakers were made in 1982. Walnut cabinets. They were in excellent condition and still are. We are non smokers. I am selling them as we have house downsized and have a pair of Klipschorns that are more than enough now. Fantastic Klipsch horn sound. For local pickup.

Gorgeous original Klipsch Cornwall speakers from my vintage audio collection. Built in February 1985, consecutive serial numbers 8506496 and 8506497. They have Klipsch original optional 2” oak risers at the bottom. Also I include 5 Rolling Stands on rubber wheels, they are extremely handy. Speakers have been stored in my Audio room and rarely play. They have always been out of the sun, covered with furniture covers, smoke-free, pets-free. Few years ago they were professionally refinished to Silky-smooth oiled finish, so finish is beautiful and very smooth on touch. This is very special speakers. Made in February 1985, right before Klipsch started cost saving in Cornwall II in 1986. Particularly: Drivers are better quality and rear mounted (not front mounted like in later Cornwall II). Back panels are removable (contrary to later Cornwall II). Speaker terminals located on the top (not on the bottom as in Cornwall II). Real plywood cabinets (not veneered MDF board as in most Cornwall II). Many people consider original Cornwall as one of the best sounding & balanced speakers ever built. Especially driven by tube amp / tube receiver. Superb sound. Large and heavy cabinets, above 100 lb each. I actually A/B/C tested these Cornwall against many famous classic JBL, Pioneer, ADS, AR, Electro-Voice and other speakers, including many Klipsch. Cornwall outperform them by a wide margin; they are not even close. Indeed, its almost impossible to beat Cornwall. Cornwall in Walnut finish are one of the most beautiful speakers. Gorgeous dark walnut veneer, full of characters, and striking proportions, they create great visual impression, especially on nice 5 high Rolling Stands I use.
