Selling my Conrad Johnson LS-17 tube pre-amplifier. It is amazing sounding, I just only have one source now, so I don’t have the need for a preamplifier. It is all boxed up and ready to go. I bought it from TMR Audio, and it has worked flawlessly. Comes with Remote Control and will be double or triple boxed Shipped with FedEx insured signature required. One of the things I loved about this preamp is that it uses relays for volume control, which means the center image was perfectly centered, regardless of the volume as regular volume controls are generally not that accurate, the resistor volume on this is perfectly balanced. You can hear the click of the relays when you turn the volume up or down. It also has balanced control from the Remote Control which is amazing and rare in a pre-amplifier! From Stereophile The Conrad-Johnson Premier 17LS is a superb preamplifier, and one of the very best I have ever used. It did a beautiful job of reproducing the tonal richness and subtleties of live music. Its resolution of detail was excellent, and it re-created performers and their surrounding ambient environments with a three-dimensional, nearly holographic solidity. It might have been slightly soft at the frequency extremes and a bit sweeter than reality, and though its dynamics were precise and clean, they were perhaps a bit less powerful than those of some other units. But the reality was that, once the lights went down and the music came up, everything — strengths, weaknesses, audiophile criteria, reviewer nitpicking, even my long-held paradigms—it all vanished, leaving only the music. There is one small dent on left side edge, see pictures. also there is one very small tiny chip of paint on top of cover on right edge, again visible on the photos.Considering the unit is 30years old it looks awesome, shiny paint, all letters intact.Unit has nice USA General Electric 5751 tubes in phono and Ei 12AU7, these sound great.The preamp sounds great and has one of the best phono preamps Ive ever heard from a preamp. Up for sale is a beautiful Conrad Johnson PV5 preamplifier in perfect working condition, fully upgraded in 2019 with Audio Note Kaisei capacitors in the power section, Shinkoh tantal resistors in the RIAA section, installed with a fresh set of NOS GE General Electric 5-Star 5751 tubes, pair of Sylvania USA 12AX7, Brimar and other only vintage tubes, with best sound possible.The preamp was tuned with the best sound output in mind, with these upgrades now it has one of the best phono sections around.Cosmetically its in excellent condition, there is one scratch on top, which you can see in the photos, faceplate is mint condition.Unit is 220-240V version!
