Vintage R.C.A. Zenith Space Command(800) SH2511W T.V. Remote Control in Original Box New Old Stock In 1956, electronics pioneer Zenith (R.C.A.) rescued millions of Americans and eventually the world from the drudgery of having to get up from the sofa and walking the several arduous feet it took to reach the television set and switch the channel, adjust the volume, or turn the unit on or off. The original Space Command Remote had two buttons and was strictly mechanical. Ultrasonic sounds from metal inside the remote triggered sensors in the T.V. set to react ant respond in kind. 30 years and 4 buttons later, the Space Command (800) used infrared technology to silently control the functions of the television set. This unit was purchased in 1986 as a replacement remote, but to my knowledge was never used. Please See ALL Photos for a Complete Description.
