This listing is for a Collins 51S-1 HF Short Wave Receiver. This receiver has the relatively uncommon Dial Lock. This is a general coverage shortwave listening receiver. It covers all frequencies from 0.2 to 30.0 MHz in 30 bands. Operating Modes:AM/SSB/CW Cosmetically, this receiver is very good with nicks here and there.It once had a property ID tag on it, removed before I got it.As the detail shows, I did a reasonable job of repairing the finish but its not perfect. Still, its a lot better than it looked when I got it.This receiver would be rated Excellent were it not for this defect, which the camera makes appear far worse than it really is. Operationally it is really really good. Sensitivity is strong on all bands.Its only electrical issue is that 21.0 and 9.0 bands, which share the same 12 MHz crystal, are off 10 KHz. I em looking to find a replacement crystal, will install it if I can find one. It comes with a freshly made power cord.It also includes the original owners/service manual, not a copy.
