This Classe CDT-1 CD Transport Serial #00C0251 was tested for over a week in my office system. It will play Redbook CDs, CD-Rs, and even the CD layer on Hybrid SACD. Unit powers on and once a CD is inserted, it works very well as does the remote control. However, the CD tray mechanism is NOT fully functional. Even though I cleaned the belt and pulleys with alcohol and greased the plastic tray, the tray did not operate more reliably. Both the case and remote have been cleaned and the internal laser lens was gently cleaned using 99% Isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab. In addition, the RCA output and AC input have been treated with Deoxit. See condition description, photos, and video for all the details. Sale includes original Classe remote. Sweet sounding Classe CDP 1.5. I’m the second owner of this unit and have loved using it. I moved onto a full streaming set up which does not sound as good as this vintage player. Unit is in very good condition cosmetically. There is one tiny spec on it ( see pics) which you won’t see from listening position. No scuff no scratches. Works very well. Just fyi. This unit due to when it was made will only play standard cds. You will not be able to play most of burned discs because the book standard. Due to its age the digital screen isn’t as bright as it used to be. It’s visible in lower light conditions. Less visible with bright lights. Comes with remote and power cord. Does not come with original packaging , cord or a manual.
