Vintage original pair of Celestion Ditton Model 150 stereo speaker pop-off cabinet covers. Black mesh stapled over what looks like medium density fibreboard (MDF) or particle board frame with oval cut-out. Gray 3/8-inch wide strip foam insulation around cut-out on inside. Round holes on 4 corners fit into pegs on MDF cabinets (cabinets not included). Each measures approximately 21.5 inches tall, 11 inches wide and 1/2-inch thick. Condition: One cover has “Celestion” emblem on upper right corner but other cover has separated emblem and a small hole in mesh where the emblem probably was. Can glue the loose emblem (included) over the hole. One corner has fraying mesh. A few slubs in fabric. See photos. As a bonus, also included are the 8 round black plastic pegs from the cabinets that held the covers in place (2 pegs are broken). Sold as-is, no returns. Selling off some project speakers I have lying around. Heres a super rare Celestion Greenback G12S model T1692. 4 ohm 20 watt speaker. Coil tests 3.5 ohm DCR. This needs repair. May require a complete recone or could be used for parts. Has a pulsonic cone but it has some shallow tears and the spider is completely unglued. The coil gap is dirty and scratchy. No dust cap. This is sold absolutely AS-IS. Will pack securely to ensure it arrives in the condition it was sent.

Relisted due to non paying buyer! Heres a super rare 1971 Celestion G12H-30 Greenback T1281. Pre rola!! This has its original pulsonic cone but the coil is rubbing and the spider and dust cap are unglued. Will need repair or recone prior to use. Sold as is for parts or repair. Coil tests well at 12 ohms DCR. Coil is rubbing but cone is in overall good shape. The spider is completely unglued as is the dust cap. Sold AS-IS due to age and obvious condition issues. so why are these for sale? why, since they served me for almost ten years flawlessly, first driven by a sugden A48, then by a highly upgraded net audio/quad 303+33, then by a revox B780 (also listed here) and then by two harman kardon integrated (HK 505/A-401) in rotation? I got these by a guy from orpington in kent, drove down there from london on my vintage volvo saloon, he had two or three pairs and these were his last, I seem to remember his dad was in the hi-fi business. they were in the original boxes (now sadly gone). they are simply flawless, not a mark, not even underneath (well, one maybe?) and I have always driven them like one should - apparently - drink: responsibly. they are the unsung heroes of the ditton tribe. people rave about the 44s (which I had) and of course the 66s which I have (superficially) heard: well, may I humbly suggest that they can openly claim for top spot, such detailed and powerful they can be if driven properly (with the dual mono HKs, they make a a mindblowing combination: with all due respect to British vintage amplifications, the yanks muscle pays) rated at 60W, they are quite current hungry, the suggden was barely tickling them, the american beasts truly make them sing. and this regardless of the looks, they ooze a sleek elegance that places them amongst the best looking floor standers (with compulsory grills on). initially they were dispatched to the bedroom system but after a few years, when I (whimsically) tried them against my magnepan in my studio rig, they blew them out of the water - sorry for the maggie crew out there, they were entry level magneplanars - and so the painful decision to sell the MGs became mercilessly unavoidable. realpolitik. however, going back to my opening line, why selling them? because of the usual upgrading virus, what else, the one against which there’s no vaccine or mask. my ears insist for going onwards and upwards, the nirvana is never found (the buddhists call this samsara) and they must become fodder for the next purchase. they are obviously collection only from E6, so you are welcome to hear what they are capable of. if we can be sure of two things only in this life, I know that the second one is that you will not be disappointed. you could get yourself a sweet vintage system if you had them hooked to the revox, please do feel perfectly entitled to make me a receivable offer for the combo. so, thanks for reading my babble and looking at my other audio items. collection only from E6. these are n.o.t. going to be shipped via underpaid and/or insensitive personnel (again, with all due respect to the category, of course), therefore no mourning over avoidable freight disasters. if I manage to fix that same volvo on time I might deliver within a reasonable radius for juice money
