Der Cayin RU7 ist USB-DAC und Kopfhörer-Verstärker in einem – gebaut, um zu den üblicherweise schwachen Kopfhörer-Ausgängen von Mobil-Geräten eine klangstarke Alternative zu bieten. Angeschlossen an die USB-Schnittstelle von Handys und Tablets wandelt der Cayin RU7 die darauf gespeicherten oder von einem Musik-Dienst gestreamten Songs mit der Präzision eines von Cayin entwickelten discrete 1-Bit Resistor Network DAC. Damit werden auch am Smartphone hochwertige Streams im DSD-Format nativ verarbeitet oder Signale in das Format konvertiert, bevor sie durch das Wandler-Netzwerk geleitet werden. Ebenso lassen sich Signale als PCM-Stream bis zu einer Abtastrate von 384 Kilohertz dekodieren.  Der RU7 besitzt eine 3,5-Millimeter-Klinkenbuchse sowie ein symmetrischer 4,4-Millimeter-Pentaconn-Anschluss. Die Klangqualität der symmetrischen Vierkanal-Technik kann bei einem entsprechenden Kopfhörer in Sachen Qualität noch mehr aus hochauflösendem Material herausholen.
