McIntosh, Kenwood, Pioneer, Carver, etc. One piece was this Carver PM-100 amp (120 wpc). We did not hook that up last night but he gave it to me to check out and either sell or keep. So if I keep it the price is great.....F R E E.....lol. I just hooked it up to my Hafler DH-110 preamp and my Thiel CS2 speakers along with the Dayton Audio sub. Never had any experience with Carver amps before, but this thing sounds pretty damn good. How did they pack 120 wpc into such a small box. The thing is literally smaller than the Hafler preamp. Anyone else have experience with this amp, and what did/do you think ? Carver PM900 Magnetic Field Power Amplifier, Quiet Fan modification. This is easily the best bang for the buck in the Carver lineup. 350WPC @ 8 ohms, 450WPC @ 4 ohms. Very underrated amplifier. Rugged, Powerful, large heat sink. Excellent used condition. I have changed out the noisy stock fan with a quiet fan for home use. Includes a 2-speed switch thats accessible thru the fan grate. Thermal override speed included as well. Ive sold 3 of these and have had one in use for several years. This is the best one Ive owned. Extremely clean inside and out. I do not believe this amp has seen much use in its lifetime. The top and faceplate have been painted with high quality textured black paint. RCA-to-TRS adapters included. New feet. Both channels produce sound, the fan works as well, the volume controls have a bit of a squeak when the volume is turned up or down, but its nothing that significant. the main problems are cosmetic as you can see in the photos.1-has scratches everywhere.2-the screen of the fan is lost3-the plug of the power cord is not the original, the cord is the original but the plug is not.4-the rubber feet are missing.5-some of the screws on the top cover are missing These are cosmetic problems that can be easily fixed but can also be left as is.
