Carver DTL-200MK2 CD Player High End Vintage 1987 Looks great! had this for many years but havent used recently as I stream alot. plays well but sometimes doesnt start right at the beginning of a song and very occasionally skips. probably a lens cleaning issue or perhaps an adjustment within that I would know nothing about. very high end in its day and has always been dependable. matches other items in that group so I may sell them later. comes with original remote will need AA batteries. rate it 9/10 on looks with no heavy scratches on unit and perfect glass and all lights work. sold as-is and as described. receiver not included. thanks for looking! will have more electronics soon as I have a stereo in almost every room. I have a vintage Carver DTL-200MK2 high end CD player. It was made in Japan and released in the year 1987. It has Digital Time Lens (DTL) and it looks like it can be rack mountable. Its powered by a regular 2-prong power cord. I plugged it in and the front screen appears to work just fine and all the functions appear to work as they should as well. This includes the power on/off button. However, the open/eject button appears to not work. The CD tray will not open no matter what I do. Also, the disc error light above the CD tray is solid red all the time while turned on. So I am unable to properly test this Carver CD player. I do not know if its a function issue with the button. When I press the open/eject button, it does shows DISC on the screen, which means its trying to open the tray. I do not even hear the motor working at all, so maybe its the motor or belt. Either way, I do not have the knowledge to figure out what the issue is or how to repair it. The power cord also has a nick on it. I added a photo showing what I am referring too, but it looks superficial and just at the surface. It does not affect the power, though maybe if you do get this CD player to work, protect the area from further damage by putting some electric tape around it. This Carver CD player unit has been used before and was in storage for a good amount of time and does have wear and tear. This includes some scratches and markings on the case, as well as some of the silver coloring on the front has rubbed off in some small areas. But physically, it appears to still be in decent condition. But because of the disc reading error and the CD tray not opening up, I am unable to fully test it and that is why I have it marked for parts, or not working. You can use it for parts or repair, but I am selling it as is, no returns and no refunds. Please read below for details: We are selling off service manuals from our old shop and that of another friendly competitor from the area. These were both very active repair shops in their day and the manuals got used! We will try to point out any flaws we spot other than ones visible in the pictures. There is often writing in the manuals but generally it is helpful service information to help fix a quirky problem a technician encountered while working on the unit. When it says service notes on back page or see bulletins on the front cover it doesnt necessarily mean they are in this manual! Often the bulletins were kept elsewhere in the shop.
