This is a version 1 Cambridge Audio CXN streamer, purchased new by me in 2015 and used as part of my home hi-fi system ever since. In my setup I used it to stream audio from a home DLNA server (I used both Plex and Twonky), to stream online content from Spotify, and to act as a DAC for other digital inputs including my TV and a separate Chromecast Audio device. Ive been very pleased with it. Please note that this device does have a display defect. I didnt notice this for a long time as I normally control it with a phone app. The LCD display on the front panel has a single row of pixels not working, with the result that theres a fine white line permanently running across the display. This does not affect usability or sound quality, but it should be clear from the photos and its reflected in the low starting price. You can find many reviews and specifications on the Internet, but there are two things I should mention:1) It doesnt have wi-fi built in. You will need to feed it with an RJ45 ethernet cable, or else purchase the optional wi-fi dongle.2) Its a V1 and not a V2. As far as I can tell, the main differences with the V2 were an upgraded processor and firmware to support the addition of Chromecast and AirPlay 2, while sound quality and build remained much the same. Both V1 and V2 are capable of playing high resolution content upsampled to 24-bit/384kHz. My approach to the lack of Chromecast functionality was to add a Chromecast Audio device (no longer marketed by Google but available on eBay) and feed the Chromecasts optical output into the CXN. The 851N offers a very wide range of functions: native compatibility with the main streaming services (Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify Connect, Deezer) and protocols (Apple AirPlay, Roon, DLNA), quality DAC for external digital sources (computer, smartphone, NAS, CD drive...), very rich connectivity, 192Hz/24-bit and DSD compatibility. Intuitive navigation via the StreamMagic app (iOS, Android). The player is in excellent condition, just note that the back of the remote control shows signs of wear (see photo) because I had to clean it with nail polish remover when it became a little sticky because of the peach skin material chosen by the manufacturer (inevitable phenomenon of aging specific to this material). Please note that it NOT sticky anymore. The backlit remote control nevertheless works perfectly and, for my part, I have never actually used it because the device is best controlled via the StreamMagic application.
