The Realistic sticker on the side states Intermittent Duty: 1 Min On 20 Min Off. Again, testing and working. Unit is in very good physical condition as well. Our backup tester which we use occasionally is a military TV-10D/U. For specialized tests, we employ one of our VTV Dual Triode Characterizers (for preamp tubes) as well as a Maxi-Matcher (for power tube matching). Tubes are guaranteed for 90 days, refund or replacement our choice. This came from the A.R. Vetter Co. factory that shut down in the late 90s. From the 60s through the 80s, they made and sold reel to reel data recorders used in research, and sold units as far away as Australia. For those customers who were using 220-240 volts 50Hz, they carried accessories like this bulk tape eraser. The factory sold these with regular US 120 volt plugs, figuring the end user would either get an adapter or cut the end off and add their own plug. I plugged this into 120 volts, and it works, generating enough AC magnetic field to demagnetize a screwdriver.
