This Bryston SP3 PreAmplifier Processor is not working properly / fully. It does power up and will pass audio correctly but the front panel display doesn’t work, the remote doesn’t work, and the unit is very sluggish/slow to respond to button presses on the front panel. No parameters can be changed since the front panel display is inoperative. I don’t know if it will pass video. Sold VERY strictly as non-working for parts or repair and absolutely no returns for any reason, so please bid accordingly. Setting the opening bid at a penny! Good luck.

Bryston 0.4B Linestage Preamplifier Serviced For your consideration, we have a sweet sounding Bryston 0.4B Linestage Preamp. We serviced the unit, and it is in now in perfect working order. When we took in the preamp, there was an issue with a noisy relay. We replaced the relay, as well as the faulty caps in the power supply that caused the issue with the relay. All switches and pots were cleaned, and then treated with the appropriate Deoxit. All RCA terminals were cleaned, and then treated with Deoxit Gold G100L solution. This is an extremely clean sounding preamp, and we enjoyed it immensely in our house system. The build quality, as we find in all Bryston gear is top notch. Physically the preamp is in very good condition and presents itself extremely well. The faceplate, sides and back are in very good condition, and the top has some light scuffs and blemishes. This unit has the rackmount faceplate, and it appears to never have been mounted in a rack, as the holes on the ears of the faceplate are clean. We dont have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit. This preamp has really wonderful sounding 2channel bypass mode that employs the same circuitry as the Bryston stand alone preamps. A nice way to save money on great sound. The remote is amazing as well! The unit was returned to Vermont in 2020 for service, replacing the display, and the toggle power switch. They made sure it was back in new condition for the next 20 years. I have not used the other surround modes on the unit, but you can find the specs and manual online. For the past few weeks, I have used the SP3 as my main preamp and confirmed that the HDMI, analog connections, USB DAC, volume control and remote all function well. Once set up the SP3 is a joy to use. I love the smooth volume control and the superb sound quality. Proper set up is complicated and the small screen makes the settings a bit cryptic, so I will not miss that. I have had two other surround sound processors and this Bryston is by far the one with the best sound quality. As the pictures show the SP3 is in excellent condition with no marks or scratches. Includes original box, protective packing, remote, owner’s manual and upgrade service ticket from Bryston. You will want to download the latest owner’s manual from Bryston as the original manual has been revised and expanded. The box was getting a bit frayed, so I encased the entire box in clear tape. Shipping is so expensive these days that I will not double box as that would only increase your cost. Also includes an upgraded power cable by Signal Cable (typically sells for $250 new but can be found for $100 used) which works much better than the OEM Bryston power cable that I cannot locate.
