It has a three speed record player 45, 33, 16 rpm. The tube radio picks up LW, MW, and UKW signals (Broadcast, Long Wave, and FM). Beautiful white metal casing with ash-veneer wooden sides. The side vaneers are in an excellent condition. The whole housing is in a mint condition. All switches and knobs work well (treble, bass, etc.), no scratches or noise. The platter will move in all speeds, plays records very great and loud, with orginal ELAC stereo crystal phono cartridge with new needle, the radio has some nice reception even without an external antenna. Completely Overhauled. The whole housing has been professionally sandblasted and repainted in a creamy white satine finish. It looks fantastic! The lettering was printed on the housing with the original letters and size in a complex screen printing process. The acrylic cover is brand new, produced like the original one. That´s why the hood has no scratches, brand new! Tubes were checked and defective replaced. All critical capacitors, defective elkos and defective resistors were replaced. The record player was completely disassembled and overhauled. All parts were cleaned and reoiled and adjusted. The engine mounts were revised. The phono cartridge was replaced to an original ELAC Stereo pickup with a new needle, which plays very good. All tuned. BRAUN audio1 von 1962. Hifi Stereoanlage, transistorisiert, mit Radio und Plattenspieler (4 Geschwindigkeiten). Abmessungen 65 x 28 cm, passt auf die Stellfläche einer L50, die zeitgleich im August 1962 auf den Markt kam. Das Gerät befindet sich im Orignalzustand mit altersgemäßen Gebrauchsspuren. Zum Beispiel sieht man Abrieb um den Lautstärkeregler und am Gehäuse, was aber aus den Fotos ersichtlich ist. Der Zustand der Haube: ohne Risse oder Abplatzer, aber mit starken Wisch- und Kratzspuren; die Beschläge sind dran. Der Plattenspieler dreht auf allen Geschwindigkeiten und der Ton kommt am Lautsprecher raus. UKW Empfang und Wiedergabe sind sehr gut zu hören. Auf den anderen Wellenbereichen ist naturgemäß tagsüber nur Rauschen zu hören. Die Skalenbeleuchtung funktioniert. Es gibt normale Gebrauchsspuren auf dem Chassis des Plattenspielers und des Gerätes. Die Einteilung um den Lautstärkeregler ist durch die lange Benutzung abgerieben. Es wird in dieser Auktion nur die audio 1 verkauft. Eine L50 wird in einer weiteren Auktion angeboten. Verkauft wird eine Braun TC-20 Radio/Phono-Kombination aus 1963. Die Anlage hält sicherlich nicht den Vergleich mit späteren Braun Anlagen stand, dazu ist der Verstärker zu schwach und die Eingangsempfindlichkeit der Empfangseinheit zu gering. Der Plattenspieler ist eher ein technologischer Witz und jeder der sein Vinyl liebt wird es nicht dieser Kunststoff-Fräse anvertrauen. Zudem sieht man dem technischen Aufbau im Inneren an, das Braun hier noch geübt hat, die Produktion in Serie muss Unsummen verschlungen haben. Die neue Transistortechnologie nach alter Röhrenart mehr oder weniger am Draht zu löten muss pure Handarbeit gewesen sein. Nichts desto trotz bin ich der Meinung, dass das äußere Design der Anlage einen Epochenwechsel eingeläutet hat. Im Prinzip nimmt es die Designsprache der SK Reihe auf, das Ganze aber in wesentlich kompakterer Form und man sieht deutlich das Weniger ist Mehr von Dieter Rams in diesem Entwurf - mehr als in alle andern Folgeprodukten von Braun. Für mich ein deutlicher Meilenstein und Grundlage für eine ganz neue Ära der Kompaktanlagen, die Firmen wie Wega oder Brionvega dann aufgegriffen haben.
