BRAUN TG504 REEL TO REEL by Dieter Rams [ DESCRIPTION ]Beautiful and functional all original Braun TG504 Reel to Reel. Designed by Dieter Rams c. 1969-1971. Not many of these models of the TG504 were made for the North American market. It features English language labeling and 120v 60Hz operation. It has a standard USA / Canadian power cord and can be plugged directly into any standard USA / Canadian power outlet. The front face, lettering, and grey anthracite finish are all 100% original. The heads are in good shape for their age and have been professionally cleaned and demagnetized. This can be used on its own with speakers or as a component in the Wandanlage / wall system combined with the TS45 and the range of record players like the PS400, PS500 and PS1000. It has been tested and is in working and all original condition. Has not been repainted or retouched. The video showcases the unit turning on and playing a tape. It was plugged into a L470 speaker for the audio playback. [ CONDITION ]Mechanically this unit is in working condition. Power On/Off functions, Play, FF, Rewind have all been tested as shown in the video. Lights and indicator bulb are in working order (main dial lights and meter light) The motors are strong as well as the braking system. Each inner reel hub has been freshly re-lubricated. Cosmetically it shows minimal signs of wear and use. There are a few approx 4mm size marks on the corners of the face plate on the bottom of the unit where the plexiglass hood rests. There are also some small areas of magnetic tape discoloring on the font face from use. The housing featured a grey Anthracite finish which has a nice texture to it. There are a few small areas where there is light scuffing and discoloration and some tiny white paint flecks. This unit has a North American plug and runs on standard 120v 60Hz power - To operated it in Europe you will need a step up converter for both the voltage and frequency. The plexiglass hood shows some light surface scratches throughout from use. There is one approx 1x5mm dent. There are no chips or cracks on the mount arms.
