The photos are of actualitem, just taken this month. Thespeakers have removable grills, and all grill-pegs are intact as you can see inthe photos. They are bi-amp-capable,though have jumpers on them to only require one-amp connection. The tweeters are removable, as you can see inthe photos, but I not recommend removing them as it can damage the latchholding them in place. One of thetweeters was replaced by the manufacturers (Bowers and Wilkins) support officein New Jersey, so it is a slightly different color but meets the originalspecification says the manufacturer. Im only selling because a client of mine was desperate to sell a pair of B&W 801 D4s at an unbelievable price that was impossible to pass up. Ive owned a lot of speakers over the years and I was very impressed with the beautiful tonality of these speakers and the detail they reveal in the music.. I have many audiophile friends and they have been impressed also. I mostly listen to classical but they sound great on rock or jazz also. They look great also with their walnut finish, aluminum and leather accents. I have the original boxes and all the accessories/manuals. At the same time, when using aluminum plugs, better heat dissipation in the area of ??the pole core increases the load capacity and counteracts thermal changes in sound. The dynamic midrange driver works with particularly low distortion when a copper layer covers the inner pole of the magnet, while the aluminum phase plug provides dispersion of the higher frequencies. So only the right combination of materials does it. The technical explanation is trite: the combination of the two materials linearizes the inductance of the voice coil. This results in a dramatic reduction in distortion.
