BOSTON ACOUSTICS VR-40 LYNNFIELD MONITOR AUDIOPHILE PAIR VR40 LOTS OF PICS. I now present to you a much sought after Boston VR Lynnfield monitor floor speaker. I purchased these several years ago because they were kept in a controlled environment and in very good shape structurally along with pristine sound. Personally, I have owned almost every Boston Acoustics VR (Video Monitor) speaker from floor to bookshelf. The VR40s were designed for music. Where as the Boston Acoustics VR35 are THX certified for film or cinema. In my opinion, the VR40s are the best full range speakers with a warm tone to them. I love listening to them. The cabinets are a little dinged up and the price reflects their condition. Any dings or scratches are located on the back or side/bottom of the speakers so you will not see them unless you were looking for them. I rate them a 6/10 for cosmetics. And 8/10 for speaker quality as the rubber surrounds on the speakers themselves are still very pliable and the tweeters are in perfect shape. If you are reading this auction you probably know what this is. But do your research and youll find how highly rated these pieces are. You will be hard-pressed to find a set of these speakers in this condition. Local pick up is encouraged and it is also advertised locally here in Orlando. If you do choose shipping, it will be well-packaged and insured. I included pictures of how the speakers will be packed: first, enclosed in Styrofoam sheeting placed in box. Secondly, placed in second box with lots of Styrofoam popcorn and then shipped to you. I have successfully done this before several times from Orlando to Seattle and LA. Picked these up but never used them. ******************* UPDATED ********************** I had a few questions. Apparently, I did not hook these up correctly. In the original listing, I stated that the speakers sounded tinny. One of the speakers was missing one of the gold connectors. I tested it connected to the top terminals (tweeter). Therefore tinny. I then connected it to the bottom terminals and got the woofer. Next, I attached the gold connector to the other terminal and everything worked as expected. One speaker will need the connector and terminal screws. I will still list these as for parts or not working as you will need to supply the missing parts. I retested these speakers and they essentially work. ******************* UPDATED ********************** Cones look good; see picture. The cabinets have a couple of marks but are in decent condition. I took pictures of all the sides. One speaker is missing two of the screws on the posts. It also had another bracket. Again see pictures. I do not want these back. Sold as is with no returns. Up for grabs is this pair of Boston Acustics VR-M50 speaker pair. Both speakers are in fantastic condition and are what I consider to be Mint. Both woofers and Tweeters sound Fantastic.
