The Bose Wave Music System AWRCC2 is a compact and versatile audio system that plays CDs. It features a multi-CD changer that can hold up to three discs, and an AM/FM radio tuner. The system also includes a headphone jack and a remote control. The color is a creamy beige. The unit with changer can play 4 discs. This is a gently used system. I tested the CD player and radio in the main unit and everything was perfect. The remote works just fine. However, when I placed CDs in the 3-Disc Changer, I kept getting an error code, that the discs could not be read. (I know they are not corrupted.) Obviously there is a problem with the Changer that would have to be worked on. I have included a photo close-up of the Bose Link Plug, whose right portion is supposed to fit into the Auxiliary Input -- but it that does not seem to fit snuggly. I did not wish to force it... Bose Wave Music System, AWR1B2, AM/FM Stereo Player, with Bluetooth adapter This radio has the great sound of the AWRCC line of radios (with CD players), but this version was sold as a lower price because the CD player was not present. This generation of the Bose Wave music systems has the best sound of all of the Bose Wave systems. The sound of this radio will fill any room in the house, garage, or workshop with sound. The system is fully tested. The radio comes with remote and power cord and Bluetooth adapter. Seller Refurbished. (Bad capacitors have all been replaced) I will go out on a limb to tell you the truth about this generation of radios. The are great, but are approaching or are over 20 years old. These radios were manufactured with tiny surface-mounted electrolytic capacitors which are drying up and leaking making some functions of the radio no longer work. The CD player is usually the first to go. I recently bought a palette of Bose items which came with 8 of the AWRCC1/2 radios. Of the 8, the radio section generally worked, but not one of the CD players worked. By replacing the non-functional capacitors with new, all of the radios now work as new and should last another 20 years. If I were buying one of these radios, I would ask if capacitors were replaced. In creating the follow-up to its original Wave radio/CD player, Bose was on a mission to keep the unit the same size while improving its sound quality, which can present a serious challenge when it comes to a compact piece of equipment that includes speakers. Bose also decided to replace the top-loading CD player with a swankier front-loading one and did away with all the buttons on the unit to enhance the Waves sleek, minimalist styling and keep things as simple as possible. The new Wave is available in two colors: platinum white and slate gray. A buttonless Wave means you have to use the included credit-card-style remote to control all of the units functions. Thats mostly a good thing. The remote is well-labeled and easy to use, though it helps to make a quick study of the manual to make sure youre aware of certain buttons dual purposes. For instance, when in radio mode, the Tune/MP3 buttons scan to the next/previous radio stations; in CD mode they allow you to navigate through folders on an MP3 CD. Meanwhile, the Play mode button selects various shuffle and repeat CD play modes but also turns on the bass-trimming Talk Radio mode when youre listening to stations that artificially boost low frequencies to make your favorite blowhards sound more authoritative. You can store up to six AM and six FM stations into memory, and the Wave, like its predecessor, is a proficient clock radio that gives you the option of awaking to a CD or a radio station. Bass was full and rich, though we sometimes wished the unit had bass and treble controls to compensate for recording variability. The Waves AM and FM tuner pulled in all of our favorite stations, including most of the hard-to-receive ones. At the suggestion of the Bose folks, who changed this models name from the Wave Radio/CD II to the Wave Music System to better express (read: market) the full range of its capabilities, we next hooked up the Wave to a DVD players audio outputs. The sound easily bested the speakers built into most TVs, particularly flat-panel displays. True, its stereo imaging was confined to the space between the Waves two speakers, but theMaster and CommanderDVD sounded remarkably clear and present. Just dont expect miracles from this tabletop system. The DVDs naval battle scenes lacked the visceral impact youll get from better HTIBs and component systems, but the Wave certainly didnt embarrass itself or overtly distort sound. We imagine it will provide yeomans service in cozy dens, bedrooms, or kitchens. All we can say is the Waves a good-looking, good-sounding tabletop radio/CD player.
