The other pair (in another auction) I re-foamed with butyl rubber surrounds - just to see what the difference was. The rubber surround pair doesnt have quite the bass (still excellent), theyll last a lifetime, and the mid and high tones are more pronounced. They also will be harder to push and can stand more volume. Both pair are about as close to mint as youll find for these original 301s - super nice look and sound.
