Any 901 Series V with original foam surrounds is just a problem waiting to happen. Well, we have refoamed these (having done many speakers over the years) with a professional kit and the result is one the will carry them through decades of infallible use with results that one would expect from Bose quality! In addition, any original buyer willing to hang onto the boxes and packing and keep them in good condition as well, obviously cared about their equipment. All (18) drivers now have new surrounds and all work exactly as they should. Cabinets are very nice, with some fading on top of one as shown. Some minor dings here and there, some from us and the work we did and some from decades of gentle use. Grills were like new, but now unfortunately do have some very minor ticking where we had to pull the original staples out to get at the lone front drivers. Hard to tell from any real distance if you didnt know ahead of time. There are no longer staples holding the fronts on place, so those and the rears can both be carefully pulled off for the new buyer to fully inspect all drivers. As you can see in pics, we did have a bit of a glue struggle on the first speaker as it compares to the second, but rest assured both play and sound wonderful and will last for many years to come! Both have quality rubber feet installed on bottom, so they can rest on any surface without fear of scratching. We do not have the equalizer to go with these.
