The surrounds, afaik, are the original foam, and showing no signs of rot / cracking. I cleaned / conditioned the veneer about 3 years ago. All things considered, its difficult to find a pair of 601s right now, that look this good. They are almost 40 years old, so they have some blemishes typical of a vintage speaker. However, they are very few, all things considered. They have always sat in my living room, until about a year ago. I own instruments, so they have always lived in a humidity controlled environment. I do not have the boxes. They sound fantastic, enormous. Everything is in perfect working order, all tweeters and woofers, no punched in caps, etc. Everything is original including the grille material. I always look around auctions for these, and I must say, this is one of the better pairs of 601s out there. Check out the pics! Local pickup only.
