Bose 601 Series III Excellent Condition 1986. Yes, those. Made in 1986. I purchased these on the bay in approximately 2005, from the original owner. The surrounds, afaik, are the original foam, and showing no signs of rot / cracking. I cleaned / conditioned the veneer about 3 years ago. All things considered, its difficult to find a pair of 601s right now, that look this good. They are almost 40 years old, so they have some blemishes typical of a vintage speaker. However, they are very few, all things considered. They have always sat in my living room, until about a year ago. I own instruments, so they have always lived in a humidity controlled environment. I do not have the boxes. They sound fantastic, enormous. Everything is in perfect working order, all tweeters and woofers, no punched in caps, etc. Everything is original including the grille material. Vintage Bose Direct/Reflecting Floor Speakers (pair) - Model 601 Series II - 1981 - 29 H x 14 W x 13 D - Condition: minor wear commensurate with age and use (e.g., some color fading to the cloth grille, minor chips to the veneer on the front corner of one speaker). These speakers are UNTESTED/AS IS and have not been serviced recently. The woofers on top will need new foam. Please thoroughly review all photos to fully evaluate condition. Left and right Bose 601 series 2 for sale. The 4 woofers have been re surrounded. Out of the 8 tweeters between the two only one does not have the dust cap pushed in. Please look at pictures carefully. 4 other tweeters have tears near the surround. Tweeters are available here on eBay and don’t cost much. They still sound really good and work perfectly. Being sold as is. Buyer pays shipping.

This is a pair of Bose 601 Series III Main / Stereo Speakers The woofers have been replaced with quality woofers from a company called Misco, who have made speakers in Minneapolis since 1949. I pulled one of the woofers and the model number is KC8W-6A and it is dated 11/24/21. They do not sell this model anymore, but a similar model sells for $75 per woofer. After doing some research, it appears that these may be better quality than the original Bose woofers. They sound awesome. The speakers have been tested and sound great. When listening to music, the speakers disappear and you are enveloped in sound that is warm, crisp and deep. If you are looking at these, then you are probably already familiar with them.
