This matched pair of Bose 601 Series 3 speakers are in excellent condition and sound amazing! Dr Bose really knew his stuff when he designed these speakers. The outer cabinets are in great shape, very few signs of wear. The speaker grills have a few tiny marks and one small tear. The speakers themselves are in excellent shape, no dented cones or imperfections. The connectors look great and work properly. The magic happens when you connect your stereo system to these speakers! They are 8 ohms and can handle 200 watts per channel. They sound amazing! The bass booms, the mid-range is clear and the hi-notes are very sharp. Matching pair of Bose 601 series III speakers in nice condition. The surrounds are good and they sound great. One dust cover is pushed in (pictured) but does not affect sound. The cabinets are decent but not perfect (see photos). They come with original boxes which are in good condition but were always stored offsite and they do show some condition issues. The speakers are also very close in serial number range which shows that they have been together since new. Bose 601 Series III Excellent Condition 1986. Yes, those. Made in 1986. I purchased these on the bay in approximately 2005, from the original owner. The surrounds, afaik, are the original foam, and showing no signs of rot / cracking. I cleaned / conditioned the veneer about 3 years ago. All things considered, its difficult to find a pair of 601s right now, that look this good. They are almost 40 years old, so they have some blemishes typical of a vintage speaker. However, they are very few, all things considered. They have always sat in my living room, until about a year ago. I own instruments, so they have always lived in a humidity controlled environment. I do not have the boxes. They sound fantastic, enormous. Everything is in perfect working order, all tweeters and woofers, no punched in caps, etc. Everything is original including the grille material. I always look around auctions for these, and I must say, this is one of the better pairs of 601s out there. Check out the pics! LOCAL PICK UP ONLY.
