DAVID BOGEN DB10 High Fidelity Tube Power Amp with Pre-Amp. Tested Works! (See pic2) Beautiful 1950’s design, bogen’s high fidelity amplifier was state of the art with that rich warm tube sound. The output transformer is for a 4, 8 or 16 ohm speaker and high and low impedance inputs with a pre-amp. What a great restoration project! There is no perceptible hum (surprisingly) that I can hear, However. Considering most components are over 60 years old, once it leaves my possession I cannot guarantee it will function as tested and cannot accept returns. It is being sold as is parts or repair. Vintage David Bogen DB20 tube amplifier, this is the -DF version with adjustable damping factor. Amp only, no case or faceplate. All tubes were pulled and tested on my Sencore TC162. I ended up replacing the pre-amp stage 12AT7 (I used an equivalent 12AX7, I also tried a 12AZ7 but the AX tube sounded better). The rest appear original, or at least 1950s-60s vintage, and test strong. I tested the amp with both a turntable and a CD player. No hum. There is an adjustment for hum but I didnt need to touch that. Sounds great, the adjustable loudness is a great feature. I didnt use the various LP compression settings, the standard LP setting worked perfectly with a modern 1970s LP. This is not a particularly loud amp, I would have had to use the damping adjustment to match my speaker to get best performance at 20 watts, but I only have the 1 amp so I didnt spend that much time on this. Tubes will be removed and individually protected for shipping. I have been selling hifi audio gear, turntables and tube radios on eBay since 1998. I have shipped far more delicate audio gear than this overbuilt tank of an amp. Sorry about the crappy knobs and stickers on the front, the controls were a little confusing and I had to look up the schematic online to figure this out. The stickers were just put on last week, theyll be easy to remove.] This thing is really heavy (11.1 kg), so shipping is going to be expensive.
