I know next to nothing about record players I know enough to know that Bang & Olufsen makes very nice stereo equipment.The player Powers On, Spins, The arm moves over to the album and drops down then sometimes it will move along the record and others it will not both channels work but they sound that comes out is not great. On the little research I did I think it has to do with the tracking or the needle on the cassette. I looked and the needle looks sharp but once again I am not an expert. This could be a very simple fix for all I know but I am selling it for parts due to not being able to make it work properly in the time I had to spend on it.If it is a simple fix I hope you either use it or sell it and get enjoyment from it one way or the other. It is in great physical condition the only flaw being the circle that is melted in the dust cover (See Picture). IT IS BEING SOLD AS-IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR I WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON THIS ITEM.

It must function mechanically (the movements of the stylus in the groove); it must function magnetically (using the physical movements to create changes in a magnetic field); and it must function electrically (using the changes in magnetic flux to generate an electrical current). At each stage, one type of energy is transferred into another, quite different, type. And the transfer must be perfect, with no energy lost and none added from extraneous sources.No cartridge will ever reach this ideal unless the Laws of Physics can be repealed. Record wear and the cartridge If you take music seriously the value of your record collection is likely to be high. Many of your records are likely to be irreplaceable. You will also know that the signals pressed into your vinyl discs are very fragile indeed. The pickup cartridge can be the discs worse enemy since an ill-suited cartridge can mark a record for life in a single play. While B&O is aware that cartridge specifications are inter-related, their research shows consistently that Effective Tip Mass (ETM) is one of the major factors affecting record wear. ETM is the equivalent of the amount of inertia the groove sees in moving or accelerating the stylus tip. Consequently, the higher the ETM value, the higher the force required for a given constant acceleration. Obviously, more force results in more wear. Three elements contribute to ETM. The stylus tip (diamond) contributes with its entire weight and mass. The armature contributes between 5 - 20% of its weight and mass; the cantilever around 30%. B&O has been able to reduce ETM substantially by refining these elements and building them into an integrated unit. The result is a system which not only reduces damage to the groove walls dramatically, but also provides exceptional performance at all frequencies.

Turntable running at right speeds with cartridge and stylus in excellent condition. The turntable is fully automated and will start from remote even when on standby. It recognises when there is a record on the turntable from weight. The turntable lid sits flush and opens elegantly at a touch of the open button. The light works which sits in the lid and helps illuminate the record/vinyl. Tonearm is balanced at the right weight and this MMC4 sits close and parallel like a mini version of the Super OM10/20 cartridge stylus combo do. Tape deck working with eject button slowly opening tape part slowly and elegantly. Radio working with ability to set presets which can all be found via remote control as well on either frequency. This amp sounds magnificent with some really good power behind it. I recently refitted all new feet so the system sits perfectly flat. Tape 2 inputs (which I used for a streamer) work great and this input can also be used by the remote. All LED panels work correctly displaying all the correct characters which is a common fault so it is rare to find one like this. Remote control also in excellent condition. Comes with high end speaker wire with the necessary 2 pin din connectors. Speakers not included. Negative parts - Ive highlighted small knocks on front right and left (sadly common) but these dont take away from the high end and very cool, standout wow factor of this magnificent system. Also the metal door on the right doesnt spring up slowly anymore but manually rises and sits nicely in position.
