OPPO BPD-105D (Darbee Edition) Blu-ray Player in Excellent Condition! When this unit was originally released it was considered by many people to be the single best Blu-ray player on the market. And with only one exception (the newer, subsequent, and now out of production BDP-205) it probably still is. Particularly with the unique and separately acquired firmware upgrade this one has. This player has custom jailbreak firmware, stored on a USB drive which is plugged into the back of the unit, which allows it do many things a standard version of this unit will not! Most Importantly: 1) It can play Blu-ray and DVD discs from ANY Region in the world. For example it can play Region B encoded discs which are intended only for playback in England and Europe! This allows you to purchase and playback movie titles that are unavailable here in the United States. 2) It can play back ISO files either from portable media (via USB) or from a network source (via SMB). With a little technical expertise, this allows you to set up your own movie storage library without the need to have every Blu-ray / DVD disc on hand! 3) It can play back ISO files that have Cineavia encryption without having to have the actual disc inserted into the player. These are ALL things that normal Blu-ray players cannot do because of various restrictions that are placed upon the Blu-ray player manufacturers. The other great feature of this unit is the Darbee Visual Enhancement technology, indicted by the D at the end of the model number. This is truly incredible technology which allows you to sharpen up the image quality of less-than-optimal discs.
