EMOTIVA BasX A-300 Stereo Amplifier, 150 Watts Per Channel,with original power cord and 12-volt trigger line.Pristine Condition This audiophile-grade amplifier has powered my listening room stereo system since purchased a few years ago. I have been completely satisfied with its beautiful, full, and nuanced sound reproduction. Recently, however, a friend (an audiophile who has spent ridiculous sums of money chasing perfect sound) advised me that my very inefficient acoustic suspension speakers (Bose Series II 901s) require greater amplifier power to really shine. Rather skeptically, I bit the bullet and invested in an EMOTIVA XPA 2 Gen 3 amp (rated at 300 watts, $1199), which now replaces this half-as-powerful A-300 amp. I will say that there is a discernible difference between the two amps; whether that difference is ultimately worth the increased cost, you will have to check back with me in 6-8 months. Whatever the case, I can attest to the fact that EMOTIVA makes excellent equipment, and that if 150 watts is sufficient for your needs, you will not be disappointed with this amplifier. As noted, the A-300 is rated at 150 WPC with Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) <0.1%, THD + Noise <0.02%, and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (S:N) at 120 dB. Currently, the A-300 has been replaced by EMOTIVA with the BasX A2, which is rated at 160 Watts Per Channel and currently sells at $499, direct from EMOTIVA. The boxed-unit weighs 32 pounds and will be shipped in the original double-lined box with the shipping cost determined by your location. It also can be picked up locally.
