Der Originalknopf ist leider nicht mehr vorhanden ! Alles andere funktioniert einwandfrei !!! VINTAGE KENWOOD / LOT OF 2 : BASIC M1D STEREO POWER AMPLIFIER BASIC C2 STEREO CONTROL PREAMPLIFIER MADE IN JAPAN No REMOTE

The Kenwood Basic C2 is highly regarded in the audio world as a terrific value in a used preamp. One of the nicer features is it can handle both MM & MC cartridges. There were a few design flaws that can be corrected with new diodes and opamps. Not only were those replaced but all of the electrolytic caps were replaced with Panasonic, Nichicon FG & Muse caps, many of the caps were bypassed with film capacitors for quick response and a more refined sound. In addition to those upgrades the chassis and boards had damping material applied. A copper IEC power inlet was installed on the back and the wire to the accessory power inputs is solid core Anit-Cable cryo treated wire- . I also installed a complete set of gold plated RCA connectors in place of those junky base metal ones that come with the units. I made a power cable from 16AWG AudioQuest wire and both ends are brass (no nickel allowed as it sounds really bad) . The wire from the power bar to the on/off switch was also upgraded. The top cover had a couple of scratches so I painted it with QuietKote (anti-vibration paint) and then black spray paint in addition to the damping material on the underside of it. The feet are EAR damping feet from Partsexpress. The tone controls have been bypassed like a modern unit as they just add distortion. The preamp looks and sounds great. I filled the volume and on/off with silicone to add weight and damping. Shipping will be insured CONUS only- $35.00 Please note that this is a listing to sell a Kenwood Basic C2, not an ad to give free advice on how to upgrade one- any requests for technical help will be ignored.The work on this C2 was completed last month (except the balance and ground which was done the week of Jan 24)so it will have many years of use and good sound to go! The only reason for my selling it is that I got a chance to get an AltaVista upgraded Counterpoint (I love tubes).

The preamplifier is in excellent condition.All functions work as it supposed to and sounds great. All knobs and switches have no issues whatsoever, including the balance knob.

Kenwood Basic C2 Preamplifier This preamp has been powered up and is producing output in both channels but there is an issue with the balance control that causes intermittent sound in one channel. Wiggling the Balance control or tapping the chassis above the Balance control sometimes corrects the problem. There are a few cosmetic blemishes along the top edge of the faceplate but they are not terribly noticeable from most angles. This preamp is sold as-is for parts or project use only.
