Head units ONLY.The Midranges are missing, And 1 tweeter Has Dented Aluminum Cap.The housings are Excellent Condition, The Grills are complete but Couple holes poked in 1 And the Grill had some broken Frame pieces. Also back housing missing on 1 tweeter and dented grill. The Tweeters Work, But selling as Non Functional.The housing are real nice and very Dense. Up for sale is a pair of B&W 802 Series 80 speakers with the Fibercrete heads. These are sequential serial number 10547 and 10548 which I believe puts them pretty far near the end of the original Series 80 run. Im selling them due to the size, they cant fit in my usual listening room. These are in excellent cosmetic condition, the cabinets were near perfect so I replaced all of the grill cloth with new cloth sourced from Simply Speakers in their dark chocolate color. The original cloths were faded and threadbare on some of the corners. I also straightened the metal frames under the cloth on the top of the speakers, ensuring it was all flat and level. These 801s are also equipped with the casters on the bottom, making them easy to reposition. There are 2-3 small scuffs that I took closeups of on the speakers, however they are not scratches as I cant catch any edge with my fingernail. It may be easy to fix them, but I didnt want to risk damaging the lovely veneer. One area of oddity is the manufacturing plate on the back of one of the speakers was out of place, figuring someone had attempted to refinish them at one point I removed the plate to put it in the correct spot. I then saw that the plate had been there for many years, likely originally placed in the incorrect area. You can see the veneer where it was is darker in color as the veneer lightened over the years due to exposure to light. I have not firmly affixed the plate in any location, Id like to give the future owner the option to put it where it was, over the dark area, or where it should be over the connections. Sonically I dont hear any issues, I dont have a reference point to go off of as they are the only 801s Ive heard. But there is no rattling from the speakers or audible rubbing from the voicecoils. Also due to the shape the speakers were in, I dont believe that the crossovers have ever been worked on as it doesnt look like the drivers had ever been removed. These are for local pickup in the Chicagoland area only, due to the weight and size
