We were sent this receiver last month because of an insurance claim. Our previous receiver was damaged by a lightning strike power surge, and this is what they offered us as an equivalent device. It isnt quite equivalent to what we had (we were just using a receiver as an audio source for a home sound system, not a home theater), so this is WAY overkill for our purposes. In fact we are going to go a whole different direction (selling house) so we dont need this. That all said, this is an awesome home theatre receiver for anyone with a killer home theatre system.

I moved to my new house in December and was having issues setting up my equipment. I assumed the worst so I bought the x3800h on Dec 10. Just last night I found that my old stereo is perfectly fine so I no longer need the new one. My loss is your gain.
