Description
Im thinning the herd, as it were, and selling my AVM 30. This is Anthem’s last preamp model before shipping production overseas, and its build quality is impressive. Its also heavy enough to sprout a hernia. Mine is in perfect condition, and comes with Remote (+ batteries), complete Operating manual, IEC power cable, and original packaging. Its been babied and coddled to a fare thee well. The AVM 30 was a cutting-edge home theater processor with video switching, independent multiline control, FM/AM tuner, choice of surround modes, on-screen display (and you can also make every adjustment on the unit display), subwoofer crossover adjustment, full speaker tuning for size/distance/crossover, DAC, multiple digital and analog inputs/outputs, XLR & RCA connections, tone bypass, dynamics settings, etc., etc. Ive used it mostly as a 2.1 AV preamp, and it provides a wide latitude of adjustments for speaker size and placement, listening distance, crossover frequency, and tone control. The Remote is smart (controls my Sony OLED and Yamaha CD player) and programmable, and there’s a comprehensive list of program codes in the operations manual. It’s had a pampered and protected life, including periodic cleaning of all the connections with Deoxit. Everything works, the remote is clean, and the vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) is still bright and sharp—no dropouts or faded dots--and large enough to read from 10 feet. Note 1: What it doesn’t have is HDMI (see the back panel pic for connection options). Note 2: Due to package size and weight, shipping is pretty expensive. Note 3: Shipping to CONUS only.
