This is an Audio by Van Alstine (AVA) Delta 120 60 watt/channel stereo power amplifier. In addition to building these amplifiers from the ground up, AVA made them available at reduced cost by building all-new AVA circuitry and parts into the chassis of a Dynaco Stereo 120 amplifier. While the results look like the Dynaco unit, the amplifier itself (and the sound!) is all AVA. The amplifier is in excellent working condition, and includes the owners manual. The inputs and outputs are on one end, and the power switch and fuse are on the other end. The speaker output terminals can be used with single or double banana plugs, or by directly screwing the speaker wires onto the terminals. Please see my other listings for audio gear and other items

This is an Audio by Van Alstine (AVA) Omega III EC stereo preamplifier. It is in excellent working order, include the owners manual, and has always been in a smoke-free environment. This is an exceptionally flexible and good, neutral-sounding preamp. Many of the features are described below. Feel free to ask questions. As can be seen in the pictures, there are 5 hi-level inputs: Tuner, CD, VCR, Spare 1, and Spare 2. (Most manufacturers use the terminology of “Aux” rather than “Spare” but the function is the same. This terminology is borrowed from the usage that Dynaco had in its preamps.) The “Special” input has been configured as a high-quality RIAA phono input. In addition, there are facilities for hooking up 2 tape decks. Switching allows listening in 4 modes: Stereo, Mono, left channel only to both speakers, right channel only to both speakers. There is a switchable EPL loop that allows insertion of an equalizer or other external processor. The “Mute” switch reduces the volume substantially without having to adjust the main volume control, in the event of a conversation or phone call. The tone controls can be switched out to provide a “straight wire” path around them. The preamp has two additional invisible features. 1. The preamp has two sets of main outputs. Set 1 is regular phase. Set 2 has reversed phase. By feeding the power amp with one channel from each, that results in reducing the load on the power supply of the power amplifier. Normal phase is then restored for listening by reversing the polarity of the speaker connection on the channel that was fed by the Set 2 output from the preamp. 2. The tape outputs are buffered. Most gear has un-buffered tape outputs, which means that the electrical characteristics of the tape equipment can affect the impedance and voltage loading of the source from the Selector switch. The buffers isolate the source, so that it is unaffected by anything on the tape output side. Please see my other listings for audio gear and other items
