Townshend Avalon Turntable with Rega RB250 Tonearm. Now an exceedingly rare turntable, this unit I would describe as being in excellent condition with one caveat. As you can see from the last photo there is a crack in the lid next to the hinge. There are also a couple of very minor scuff marks on the platter which I have tried to show in the pictures. Other than that the bearing was serviced before put it into storage & the ball bearing was replaced. I will include the printed instructions from Townshend Audio for maintainance of the bearing in this model but to be honest is isnt for the feint hearted and I got a metallurgist friend to do it. I Will include a belt and fresh bearing oil and trough fluid. I will clean out the existing bearing oil as there is no way of preventing it leaking out in transit which is a pain to clean off the plinth surface! The outrigger and of course - the famous Max Townshend trough is also incuded in the sale. Ive decided to include my last Rega RB250 in this listing. It really is a very clean example as you can see from the very faint marks on the headshell.
