Lenco L78 Turntable, Audiophile idler wheel table. I am offering a rare to find (in the USA anyway, more common in Europe) Lenco L78. In the realm of less expensive idler tables (those not named Thorens TD124 or Garrard 301/401), there are basically two choices Dual and Lenco. Both were designed in Europe but the Lencos are of a much better quality. You have speed choices of 16/33/45/78. They are simpler and sound better. Theres a reason these guys usually sell for 3x the price of the German made idler drive table. It has arm cueing and if you can get it fixed, auto stop with tonearm lift at end of record. Ive fixed it before on another unit so its not that hard to do. I just havent done it on this one. It comes with the classic Lenco knife bearing arm which holds a resemblance to a classic SME except it is a straight arm. The turntable is in decent cosmetic and mechanical condition with minor scratches and dust. The L78 Turntable plays in on/off manual mode and plays records with stereo sound. The tonearm balance and stylus pressure have been adjusted according to the weight of the included cartridge. Anti skate weight and string are included. However, Ive found the tonearm works best with the weight in the near position for the least anti skate pressure. Youll need to adjust it to your needs properly for minimal distortion. Although tested as working, no specific performance spec is offered or guaranteed for the turntable. The L78 will come with an Audio Technica VN95e cartridge which is different than the one pictured. If you are familiar with Lencoheaven.net this TT would make a great candidate as the start of a PTP turntable. This unit is sold as is.
