They are very well built: Dense composite enclosure, injection molded graphite midrange driver, aluminum tweeter using tech from Reference Premier. Im not aware of any other speaker sized like the Quintet with its efficiency (91 Db/1M-1W). This means the 25 WPC Douk amp can drive these speakers to respectable levels without distortion. Sadly, the Quintet V is no longer sold by Klipsch and its current replacement is not built to the same standard. Be careful when researching Quintets. The prior four versions (I-IV) are sonically inferior to the V. IMHO, the V is the best Quintet Klipsch ever made. Note: There is minor cosmetic damage on the front of one speaker (see image). You can get JRMC configured with no experience for basic use within 30 minutes, but very powerful video/audio customization if you wish. You can only use JRMC on the HTPC, and it cant be updated unless you buy the latest version. This HTPC is biased for A/V playback, not gaming. It has limited internal storage but can be easily added via external USB. Cet ampli, en plus dêtre beau, est juste superbe pour mes oreilles. J’ai été conquis avec les DM2 et les DM4. En effet, ces enceintes anglaises sont superbes pour le rendu des voix, mais il ne faut pas leur demander une dynamique capable de réveiller Fenshu Kabadawi ou joey jordison, mais pour un rendu de voix classique, pour du Jazz, ces enceintes sont des merveilles. Pourtant, le marantz arrive à leur apporter une dynamique qui va permettre à ces enceintes de se surpasser. Comme je l’ai dit, un superbe équilibre. Avec cet ampli, les DM2 gardent leur identité, mais se démènent d’avantage pour apporter un surplus de dynamique vraiment intéressant. Marantz 1550L receiver from 1978 in excellent condition and perfect working order. Came from a recent estate sale and was dry stored in the house. We have internally cleaned all of the rotary controls and selectors with switch cleaner to ensure they are all noise free. The exterior has been deep cleaned, the facia is in excellent mark free condition. Sadly in previous ownership the MID tone control knob has been knocked off and in turn broken off the spindle. As far as we can tell it was set to the mid position, it is the only issue and could be rectified at a later time with the new owner. Parts from these receivers are always on eBay and I think that these late 1970s receivers shared parts. The sound quality is excellent and all the features work as they should. We have tested all the inputs including phono by connecting a turntable, they are all 100% All of the speaker outlets for system 1 and system 2 are also fully working. The tuning scale and meters light up in blue, super cool. The receiver has been bench tested over the last 3 days and not missed a beat. We have been listening to vinyl, tapes and streaming from our phone via an RCA lead. Despite a missing control knob this is a superb example, designed in California and made in Japan. Some sellers are asking north of 1K so have priced mine at a realistic price point. This auction features a great sounding and highly regarded Nikko Gamma I FM Stereo Tuner from 1977. This tuner features a heavy and solid build with many of the features and performance found in tuners that sell for 3X as much. The Gamma I sold for $400 in 1977 which amounts to $2,000 in todays dollars with inflation which was far from cheap for a FM only tuner in those years. What this tuner lacks in eye candy and glamour it more than makes up in performace. It features great FM sensitivity and selectivity with 5 tuning gangs, mosfet Wide and Narrow mode options and fixed/variable output control. The sound can best be described as delightfully smooth. It delivers great stereo imaging, thick bottom end and silky smooth highs. It rivals some of the best tuners I have owned ( and Ive owned many, including the famous Marantz 10B) and it does it at a very affordable price. The Gamma I is well regarded at FM tuner reviews and recommended by Leonard Feldman in a 1979 publication of Audio Feview Magazine. This tuner is is great working condition, all lamps, indicators, meters and switches are in good working order. The tuning capacitor and volume controls were cleaned for noise and static free performance. Cosmetics are very good. Theres the usual scratches on the top from stacking components but a relatively clean face with some minor nicks that were touched up for better presentation. If you are in the market for a solid built tuner that delivers the goods without braking the bank this auction is for you. Make this tuner yours with BIN before its gone.
