Here’s a nice Audio Research Foundation Series VT80 amp, originally in silver, now in black. I also have what I believe are some original silver trim pieces. If you want those, I will see if i can safely pack them in the original carton with the amp or you can just pay me the extra shipping cost to send a second and smaller box your way. When I got this unit I got in touch with ARC and I ordered the optional tube cage for it along with a new “Certified Matched” tube set featuring the SE-spec KT150 tubes. In the two years since, I’ve put just 57.9 Hours on that factory tube set. As you may know, the early units were sold as VT80 with KT120 tubes (as this one probably was). Soon after launch, they went to the larger KT150 tubes and with that change alone, these units became VT80SE tube amps. There was no other difference between VT80 or VT80SE. The SE came by virtue of a simple tube change alone. Der CD-07 war der zweite und teurere CD-Player im AR-Programm. Technisch gleicht er bis auf den Bitstream-Wandler weitgehend dem AMC CD-6 oder dem Rotel RCD-965, Philips-Technik mit zuverlässigem Philips CDM 4/19 Laufwerk. Minimale Ausstattung, einziger Luxus ist eine einfache Programmierfunktion. Am Gerät selbst gibt es lediglich einen großen Taster mit zwei Befehlen - Play/Pause und Schublade öffnen. Alle weiteren Funktionen sind über die Philips-kompatible Fernbedienung zu erreichen. Klares Display, koaxialer Digitalausgang. Abmessungen: 43 x 9,3 x 35,4 cm (BxHxT), Gewicht 5,6 kg. Der CD-07 läuft zuverlässig und spielt neben herkömmlichen CDs auch CD-Rs. Das Öffnen und Einlesen erscheint mir recht geräuschvoll, hier sollte vielleicht gelegentlich ein Service durchgeführt werden. Ansonsten funktioniert das Gerät im Alltagsbetrieb einwandfrei. Die originale System-Fernbedienung liegt bei, sie weist aber starke Gebrauchsspuren auf. Auch das Gerät selbst ist sichtbar gebraucht. An der Oberseite und den Kanten der Frontplatte finden sich viele Kratzer und Spuren, ebenso auf dem Gehäusedeckel. Diese Mängel sind auf den Bildern etwas mit Edding kaschiert. I am selling both an SP9 Preamp and the D-115 Stereo Power Amp, but this auction is ONLY for the SP9 Preamp. It has been single owner since being purchased new decades ago, in a smoke-free home and well cared for. It has not seen much use or any maintenance in a while, but I powered it on and enjoyed it one last time before listing to ensure it works well as-is, and to me it sounds the same as it always has.
