For sale is my Audio Note S2 step-up transformer to allow you to use an MC cartridge with a MM phono stage. When I was looking for an expensive MC phono stage I did a lot of research about alternatives and tried a lot of different kit. If you have never heard a SUT with a valve MM phono stage you don’t know what you are missing, you will never buy a MC phono stage again, it’s a completely different world of performance. And of course Audio Note is the pinnacle. This SUT is switchable between two settings to give a wide range of cartridge compatibility. I’ve used with a Hana ML, Hana Urishi and Kotsu Black which are all a perfect match. There are loads of other cartridges that work with this SUT, the Low version is really just for the Audio Note IO and some unusual cartridges so the version I’m selling (medium – high) is the one to get. The 15 Ohm switch (Low) of the ‘M-H’ version is designed to partner cartridges with an internal impedance of around 4 to 5 OhmsThe 60 Ohm switch (high) is designed for cartridges with internal impedance in the region of 15 to 20 Ohms. I tried a few other SUT’s in the price range I’m selling this for and none came come even close to the AN. Only selling because I moved to the AN IO cartridge and an AN-S4. Don’t forget if you want one there is a wait of months as AN build everything by hand to order. It really is as new, not a mark on it. I have the original packaging. Audio Note AN-V Digital Cable Please note that this was originally listed as 19-stands but having done a bit of research and taking the age of the cable into account then it is more likely to be 15-strands. I have been using this 15-strand silver cable for a few years now and it is quite superb. Made by the wonderful Audio Note, it is 15 strands of very pure silver and terminated with their fantastic AN-P RCA plugs, which are £50+ each new! Length is 0.8m from tip-to-tip. It is a digital interconnect and used to take the output signal from CD transport or server to a DAC. I bought the cable already used and it must be quite a few years old - as a result, the markings on the cable have now worn off but it is marked so you know the direction the signal should go and how to connect (courtesy of advice from AN) As a result, I cannot prove that it is genuine but I have used it for several years and compared to various other high-end cables (including my new ones) and am 100% certain that it is the real deal. I dont think anyone would go to the trouble of putting AN-P plugs onto fake cable! If the winning bidder receives the cable and has any doubts about its authenticity then they are welcome to take it along to their nearest Audio Note dealer to get an expert opinion and, failing that, send off to AN for a definitive answer. If it comes back that it is not genuine then I would happily refund. It is their entry level silver cable but, believe me, it is fabulous and brings a great improvement over any copper cable! I have upgraded to another AN product that has more silver in it (and cost a lot more!)
